APA-Harare (Zimbabwe) An album by Zimbabwean music icon Oliver Mtukudzi is in the running for a Best Alternative Music Album : Africa accolade, according to nominations announced by organisers of the South African Music Awards (SAMA) Wednesday.

Mtukudzi’s 57th album, titled Dairai, is one of four albums vying for the award and is competing against productions by three South African musicians Candy, Joe Nina and KB.

This is the second time "Tuku" has been a SAMA nominee. In 2002 "Tuku" was a finalist in the Best Traditional/African Adult Contemporary DVD – Live at The Cape Town Jazz Festival category.

The awards presentation is set for the weekend of 16-17 April at Sun City.
